Michigan
State University's School of Criminal Justice is the oldest
and one of the most respected criminal justice programs in the
world. Its graduates have gone onto distinguish careers in public
law enforcement, security, and other areas of the criminal justice
system. Graduates join elite global alumni, many who are leaders
within their chosen field. To maintain its leadership role,
in 1998 the School of Criminal Justice placed its Masters of
Science in Criminal Justice, with a Security Management specialization
on the Internet. This brought its distinguish academic program
to student's personal computer and provided advanced educational
opportunities to practitioners, which were never before available.
This was the first on-line degree program
to be offered by MSU and in December 1999, the first group of
students graduated with their MS in Criminal Justice. In 2000,
MS in Crimal Justice with International Focus was added to the
Internet Master Program.
The
program is designed to add new dimensions to the skills of career
people in various areas of criminal justice and security. A
number of on-line support services are available to assist students
as they progress through the program. Two
degree specializations are offered for students seeking degrees
in Criminal Justice via the Internet. Information regarding
the two masters degree programs can be obtained by clicking
